چکیده

In addition, the total number of genes present in the body is estimated to be as much as 99% non-human. The implications of this fact are astonishingthe quality of our lives is as dependent upon the natural flora that we carry as it is upon ‘our’ genes. The time has come to stop ignoring the idea that humans are actually metagenomic systems. Sadly, the metagenomes of the oceans and even Pompeii worms are better studied than the one existing in our own bodies.

Assessment of the Genetic Diversity of Almond (Prunus dulcis) Using Microsatellite Markers and Morphological Traits

The genetic diversity among 56 almond (Prunus dulcis) genotypes was analysed using 35 microsatellite markers and 14 morphological traits. Analysis of morphological traits revealed a wide range of variation among the studied genotypes. Out of 35 simple sequence repeats (SSRs) markers, 25 were polymorphic, producing 215 alleles that varied from 2 to 16 with an average of 8.76 alleles per locus. R...

Genes carry instructions to make protein that affect body's cells and their physical activity. They also play an important role in the occurrence of various characteristics in the body. Recently, scientists in the new field of science known as genomics have studied the genetic instructions. Genomics deals with the discovery of all the sequences in the entire genome of organisms and is used to s...

Mapping and Expression Analysis of a Fusarium Head Blight Resistance Gene Candidate Pleiotropic Drug Resistance 5 (PDR5) in Wheat

Fusarium head blight (FHB) caused by Fusarium graminearum is a serious disease of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), through which grain quality losses are induced by fungal trichotecene mycotoxins such as deoxynivalenol (DON). A class of plasma membrane localized ABC transporter proteins related to the yeast PDR5 (pleiotropic drug resistance5) efflux pump seems to be responsible for partial resista...
